The Directorate of Narcotics Investigation of the South Sumatra Police, destroyed the evidence of methamphetamine and marijuana from their results of uncovering drug cases for the last two months from nine police reports with 14 suspects.
"Today we carried out the destruction of drugs from two months of uncovering the nine drug case," said the Deputy Director of the Narcotics Directorate of the South Sumatra Police, AKBP Djoko Lestari, on Wednesday (10/8/22).
As for the evidence that was destroyed by the police, there were 1,856 kg of methamphetamine that was destroyed by crushing, and 18,500 kg of marijuana were destroyed by burning. Of the nine drug cases revealed by the South Sumatra Police, 14 arrested suspects were drivers and buyers.
The Deputy Director of the Narcotics Directorate of the South Sumatra Police added that from the two months of arrests, they estimated have saved atleast 30,390 people from the illicit drugs.
