West Sumatra Police Secured 13 Tons of Illegal Fertilizer

Tribratanews.polri.go.id – The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the West Sumatra Police has succeeded in uncovering the alleged crime of producing and/or trading goods that are not in accordance with the pledge stated in the label, etiquette, description, advertisement or sales promotion of goods in the NPK fertilizer, Nt. PHOSKA produced by a private company.

The Head of Public Relations of the West Sumatra Police, Commissioner Dwi Sulistyawan, who was accompanied by the Director of Special Crime Investigation of West Sumatra Police, Commissioner Adip Rojikan and the Head of Sub-Division 1, Commissioner Harianto, revealed that they have managed to find NPK fertilizer that are not in accordance with the pledge stated in the label, etiquette, description, advertisement or sales promotion of goods in three different locations of West Sumatra.

In the disclosure of the case, the police arrest a suspect with the initials of ABR who was the Director of one of the companies who produced NPK Nt Phoska.

Commissioner Dwi said the arrests were made after they found the selling of cheap fertilizer in the community compared to the official price set by the government.

"The harm from the suspect's actions is that it can harm farmers by hindering the agricultural production," said West Sumatra Police Intermediate Officer

The suspect is subject to Article 62 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 8 paragraph 1 letter f of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection with the threat of imprisonment for a maximum of 5 (five) years or a maximum fine of Rp. 2,000,000,000.00 (two billion rupiah).
