At least six people in Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi were arrested by the police for committing fraud on behalf of Rans Entertainment.
In their action, the perpetrators deceived their victims by saying that they would gave gifts from the businesses owned by the famous celebrity couple, Raffi Ahmad and Nagita Slavina.
Knowing this information, the Operational Team of the South Sulawesi Police Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation secured the perpetrators in Lautang Village, Wajo Regency, Monday (10/3).
“We have secured the suspects. The six suspects have the initials of SU (38), FA (18), UM (38), SA (22), BA (37), and AM (33),” said the Head of Cyber Crime Units of Special Criminal Investigation Directorate, Commissioner Syarifuddin. He adds that the suspectes pretened from Rans Entertainment, an digital and media creative enterprise owned by Raffi Ahmad.
However the police have not been able to explain further regarding the profits the suspects made from their fraud activity.
For his actions, the six suspects were charged with Article 45A paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph (1) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 19 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law of Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE).
