Lampung Police Arrest a Man Who Illegally Used Famed Rice Brand

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - The Lampung Regional Police managed to arrest a man with initials K, in a copyright issues of rice brand. The perpetrator used the Raja Udang trademark illegally to sold his own rice.

Head of Public Relations of the Lampung Regional Police, Commissioner Zahwani Pandra Arsyad said the perpetrator forged the trademark without rights, which was legally registered with the IDM certificate number 000316833.

"This case began when the brand owner knows that there was a store selling rice with their brand. However, after they checked the said product, the quality of the rice and the price seemed to be different," said the Head of Public Relations of the Lampung Police quoted from lampungpro.co, Thursday (15/12).

Based on this information, the owner of the original trademark ordered his employees to inspect and buy the rice at K's shop. It is known that the perpetrator sold his rice with Rp108 thousand per 10 kg sack of rice.

"Meanwhile, during the purchase, K did not gave a note to his consumer and he aslo never asked permission from the brand owner," explained Commissioner Zahwani Pandra Arsyad

From this case, the police secured evidence of a rice sack sewing machine, a digital scale, and 74 empty rice sacks. In addition, 105 sacks of rice, five rolls of sewing thread, and 11 bales containing 400 empty 10 kg sacks of rice were also seized.
