Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Semarang. The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of Central Java Police succeeded in uncovering the crime of counterfeiting motorcycle oil in three different locations, which was in Wonosalam, East Semarang, and North Semarang. The police also managed to secure two suspects with the initials of AM (40) and DKA (41)

The Director of Special Criminal Investigation of Central Java Police, Commissioner Dwi Subagio explained that the suspect AM was arrested for selling fake oil to the public. From examining him, it is known that there are three locations of factories to make that fake oil. The police managed to confiscate three video sets, three binding machines, six oil reservoirs, 50 empty drums and thousands of oil bottles ready for distribution. In addition, six trucks were allegedly used to transport fake oil.

“All production is managed by the DKA suspect. For their actions, the suspects DKA and AM are threatened with punishment based on Article 100 paragraph (1) and/or paragraph (2) and Article 102 of Law no. 20 of 2016 concerning Brands and Geographical Indications, with a maximum threat of five years in prison and/or a fine of Rp2 billion," explained Commissioner Dwi Subagio at one of the locations of the fake oil factory, Tanah Mas Semarang, as reported by Antaranews.com, Thursday (20/10).

Commissioner Dwi Subagio explained that the materials used to make fake oil are processed materials that are added with addictive and coloring substances. The fake oil is then packaged and marketed throughout Indonesia, especially in Central Java and Kalimantan. They faked the oil under the brand of AHM and Yamalube. The fake oil was circulated quite massively and widely in Indonesia

“Every 20 days, they can sell 3,000 bottles of their fake oil, which they could generate around Rp960 million. So in a year the turnover is around Rp.11.5 billion. They have been operating for two years with a turnover of Rp23 billion," explained Commissioner Dwi Subagio.
