The murderer who mutilated a junior high student at South Ogan Komering Ulu, Saturday (12/3), have been finally arrested. The suspects, FA (18), HI (14), and HE (14), are the friends of the victim. The motive behind their mutilation is because HE was scared that his theft would be reported by the victim to the others.
“In this case, FA was the first to be arrested not long after the victim’s body was found at coffee plantations with the head and legs are separated from the body," explained South Ogan Komering Ulu Police Chief, AKBP Indra Arya Yudha.
He continues that the other two, HI and HE, were arrested on Monday (12/5), after trying to flee to Palembang City.
On this case, the police confiscated evidence of a motorbike belonging to the victim that has been stolen and sold by the suspect, handphone, knife, a wood stick, a shirt, and the victim’s jacket.
“Suspects will be charged with Article 80 paragraph (3) juncto 76 letter (c) of Law Number 35 of 2014 amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection in conjunction with article 340 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of capital punishment or life imprisonment," concluded the Ogan Komering Ulu police officials.
