Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The attorney for the victim of the DNA Pro fraudulent investment, Muhammad Zainul Arifin, asked the police to ensnare public figures who also benefitted the money from the trading robot fraud.
Zainul stressed that the celebrities could not come up with an excuse that they did not know the funds they received were from the criminal acts. They can still be charged with the law because they have harmed the victims.
"Everyone may not have any bad intentions, but after doing so, they then know that it was a crime. Unfortunately, they kept it quiet, so it can be suspected that they had bad intentions," said Zainul, Friday (22/04/2022).
According to the attorney, public figures should be treated the same as other DNA Pro suspects, who initially had no malicious intent, but just found out it was a crime. And they are treated like people who are suspected of committing a crime, prosecuted, detained, and tried in court.
"The celebrities can be subject to the ITE Law and money laundering crimes (TPPU), because they receive the benefits of a criminal act, and harm many people, in this case, DNA Pro victims," he said.
The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police is continuing to investigate the parties involved in fraudulent investment activities. Rows of names of celebrities and public figures have also been checked. We just have to wait for the continuation of their status, will they only become a witness or a suspect.
