"As of October 2022, the Central Sulawesi Regional Police and the Police in the ranks have uncovered 460 drugs abuse cases," explained the Head of Public Relations of the Central Sulawesi Police, Commissioner Didik Supranoto as reported by media.alkhairaat.id, Tuesday (18/10/2022).
The Head of Public Relations of the Central Sulawesi Police also said that 590 people have been named as suspects, consisting of 534 men and 56 women. Meanwhile, 4,649,333 grams of methamphetamine were also secured.
"Disclosure of drug cases this year has decreased by 7.44% compared to last year's 497 cases," said the Head of Public Relations of the Central Sulawesi Police.
He said that the issue of drug abuse became the attention of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo when giving directions before the National Police Chief, the main officials of the National Police Headquarters, the Regional Police Chief, and the Heads of Police throughout Indonesia at the State Palace, Jakarta, last Friday (14/10/2022).
"Disclosure of drug crimes cannot be separated from the role of the community in providing information, so on this occasion the police give their regards and hope that all elements of society would participate in fighting against drugs," explained the Head of Public Relations of the Central Sulawesi Police.
The Head of Public Relations of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police added that the public should not be shy or afraid to report if they see and know that there are persons involved in drug abuse.
