Special Detachment 88 Anti-terrorism Arrested Three Suspected Terrorist in Lampung

Tribratanews.polri.go.id -  The Special Detachment 88 Anti-terrorism unit, together with the Lampung Regional Police, arrested three suspected terrorists from Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) group of Lampung. In a release, the Head of the Public Information Bureau of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan detailed the roles of the three suspects.

The suspect TY acts as a coordinator in the Lampung area and part of the wisdom structure of JI's west kodimah, and also deputy chairman of Retired Communication Forum of JI Lampung from 2015 to 2020.

"From TY's arrest, we also confiscate evidence of one homemade firearm and 430 rounds of ammunition from the suspect JD. In 2019, TY together with JD ordered a long-barreled homemade firearm," explained the One-Star General quoted by Antaranews.com, Friday (11/18).

Meanwhile, AB acts as a substitute for JI Lampung coordinator after TY was arrested.

"AB held a meeting at Balako in Bandar Lampung to discuss fundraising in Lampung for global 'jihad' actions in Syria," said Brigadier General Ramadhan.

And JD is part of halaqoh congregation under the guidance of suspect TY from 2018 to 2020. He also had 520 rounds of ammunition, sold one homemade firearm and 430 rounds of ammunition to the suspect TY.

From November 9th to 11th, 2022, the Lampung Police have arrested three people with the initials TW, AB and JD. The three suspects are charged with Article 17 in conjunction with Article 7 and Article 15 in conjunction with Article 9 of Law Number 5 of 2018 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Terrorism.
