Drugs From Malaysian-Indonesian Networks Confiscated and Destroyed by the Police

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Criminal Investigation Unit have destroyed 75 kilograms (Kg) of methamphetamine and 40 thousand ecstasy pills that they have confiscated as evidence, on Thursday (12/15).

The destruction of these illicit goods was the result of their disclosure on Malaysian-Indonesian drug networks, carried out by a team from the Directorate of Drugs Investigation Unit of National Police in Medan, North Sumatra in early December 2022.

"The destruction of 75 kilograms of methamphetamine and 40,000 ecstasy pills was carried out under constitutional order," explained the Directorate General of Narcotics Investigation, Brigadier General Krisno Halomoan Siregar, quoted from republika.go.id, Thursday (12/15).

He said that the confiscation of those drugs have estimated to have saved around 340,000 people.

Previously, the prevention of drugs smuggling was successfully carried out after the police received information about the entry of drugs in large quantities from Malaysia to Medan, via Tanjung Balai, Asahan. Based on this information, on December 5, 2022, the Criminal Investigation Unit's of Drugs Investigation Directorate moved and arrest two people with the initials RH and YT.

From the series of arrests, it is known that the methamphetamine and ecstasy pills from Malaysia were ordered by a person with the initials of M, which are currently on the wanted list (DPO).
