Tribratanews.polri.go.id - The Directorate of Cyber Crimes of National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, succeeded in dismantling the practice of online gambling syndicates and arrested eight people on their operation in an apartment in the Pluit area, North Jakarta.
Head of the Public Information Department, of the National Police Public Relations Division, Commissioner Nurul Azizah said the eight suspects had the initials of MA, SF, KV, R, KN, MO, SAR, and FFD. They were arrested on Saturday (13/8/22). "The suspects consist of six men and two women," said Commissioner Nurul at Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Monday (15/8/22).
According to the Commissioner Nurul, the online gambling operators were arrested in a raid at the CBD Pluit Apartment, North Jakarta. "The raid is related to the prosecution of online gambling," explained the Head of the Public Information Department
For their actions, the suspects will be charged with Article 45 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 27 paragraph (2) of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions.
Then, Article 303 of the Criminal Code, Article 82, Article 85 of Law Number 3 of 2011 concerning the Crime of Fund Transfer. Also, Articles 3, 4, 5 and 10 of Law Number 8 of 2010 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of the Crime of Money Laundering.
